Building Configuration

First, set up a gateway that communicates with the building’s technical systems. Then, add devices, interfaces, and data points. For known systems, you can add all of this at once using a template.

1. Add the gateway

The gateway communicates with the building’s technical systems: Add Evolo Gateway.

2. Add the systems

From a template

Add a system using a template under Systems → New System. Devices, interfaces, data points, logging, and alarms are created all at once.

Manually

Add manually if no template is available:

1. Add a device

2. Add an interface

3. Add data points or Import data points from Excel

4. Add logging for a data point

3. Describe the systems in FDV

Write a brief operational description for each system under Operations & Maintenance → Systems: what constitutes normal operation, such as operating hours, nighttime temperature reduction, and frost protection. Upload operating instructions and data sheets to the system’s folder. Eva and Dagens innsikt use this to distinguish deviations from normal operation. Building Setup

Once the data points are in place, set up the building with views, alarms, calendar items, and energy monitoring.

• Views: Add a view and View Builder

• Alarms: Create an alert on a data point and Create notification channels

• Calendar items: Create a generic calendar object or Create a BACnet schedule object

• Energy monitoring: Create an Energy Group and Create a measurement point

• Applications: Set up an application

Keep an eye on Status

In the Overview section of Configuration, the Status tab shows what is in order and what needs to be done. This is visible to those with access to Testing & Commissioning. The items are listed in this order: yellow warning (should be corrected), open circle (pending), blue info (tip, not an error), and green checkmark (in order). Blue info applies, for example, to systems without documents and measurement types that haven’t been set; not all buildings need them. Click on an item to go directly to where you can correct it.
