Here's how to do it
Go to Settings and select Alarms.
Click Import to open the import dialog.
Click Download Template.
Open the template in Excel.
Enter the alarms in the “
AlarmTriggers” sheet.Select the updated file in the import dialog.
Check the "Update existing" box if you want to update existing alarms.
Click Import. Rows that were skipped are displayed in the dialog along with the reason.
Each data point can have one alarm. Without “Update existing,” data points that already have an alarm are skipped. With the box checked, the alarm for the data point is updated with the values from the row.
Do you want to change multiple alarms at once? Click Export on the alarm list, modify the file, and import it again with “Update Existing” selected. If you select alarms from the list first, only the selected ones will be exported.
Common Fields
The column names in the template are in English. The descriptions below follow the order in the template.
ID
Filled in when you export alarms. The import links the alarm to the data point, not to the ID.
Display Name
The name of the alarm.
Description
Description of the alarm. Optional.
Data Point
The name of the data point for which you want to create an alarm. The name must be unique within the building; otherwise, the import will stop with the error “The data point name is not unique on line …”. If the data point name starts with =, you must add an apostrophe at the beginning in Excel to prevent the field from being interpreted as a formula.
Type
Alarm type: Bool, Value, or BACnet. The type determines which other fields are relevant in the row. Rows with Communication are skipped, and alarms on logged data points cannot be imported. New alarms are always created as enabled.
Priority
Alarm priority: A, B, or C.
Interval
How often the alarm is checked: Event (on change), OneMinute, or FiveMinute. Required for all types except BACnet.
Fields for alarm limits and evaluation
Alarm Low and Alarm High
Used to set the low and high alarm limits for the data point. The alarm is triggered when the value exceeds the limits you have set. For the Value type, at least one of these must be filled in.
Boolean alarm
Required for the Bool type. Enter “true” if the alarm should trigger when the data point is true, and “false” if it should trigger when it is false.
Warning low and Warning high
Used to set warning thresholds. These can be used to issue a warning before the data point reaches the actual alarm threshold.
Range low and Range high
Used to specify the permissible values for the data point.
Other settings
View
Used to specify in which views the alarm should be available.
Text list options
Used to specify text values for Boolean or numeric states.
Hysteresis
Used to prevent the alarm from triggering and resetting repeatedly when the value is close to the alarm limit. Required for the Value type.
Delay
The number of seconds the value must remain in the alarm state before the alarm is triggered. Required for all types except BACnet.
Recovery Period
Waiting period before the alarm is cleared. Useful for unstable values. No new alerts are sent during this period. Optional; not used for BACnet.
Validity Days
Used to specify on which days of the week the alarm should be valid.
Validity hours
Used to specify the hours during which the alarm is valid.
