Here's how to do it
Go to Settings and select Apps.
Click Add Application.
Enter a name, a description if desired, and select a gateway.
Enter the latitude and longitude for the location.
Enter the elevation above sea level.
Enter your identification, such as your company name or other identifier, and an email address.
Select how many hours in advance the weather forecast should be retrieved for.
Select which data points to use for temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and wind direction.
If applicable, select valid hours. If you set valid hours, only the hours within that window will be included in the average.
Select a data point for the timestamp.
Click Create.
Fields you must fill in
Latitude and longitude are normally retrieved from the building’s address, if available.
Elevation is specified in meters above sea level.
Identification is required by YR’s API, and incorrect information may result in the gateway or IP address being blocked. The identification must include a company name or other identifier and a contact email address.
Select weather data
You can enter these values as data points:
temperature in °C
precipitation in mm
wind speed in m/s
wind direction in degrees
Important to know
The "Hours Ahead" field determines how far into the future the values are calculated. The data entered applies to the current hour and the following hours combined, not the forecast for a single point in time.
If you select 1, you will get the values for the current hour.
If you select 6, the values cover the next 6 hours (the current hour plus the 5 following hours).
Temperature, wind speed, and wind direction are recorded as averages over the period. Precipitation is recorded as an accumulated total—that is, the total expected precipitation for the entire window.
The gateway automatically retrieves new weather data every hour and stores it in the selected data points.
