Import Alerts from Excel

Here's how to import multiple alarms at once in Evolo using an Excel template.

Here's how to do it

  1. Go to Configuration and select Alarms.

  2. Click Import to open the import dialog.

  3. Click Download Template.

  4. Open the template in Excel.

  5. Enter the alarms in the "AlarmTriggers" sheet.

  6. Select the updated file in the import dialog.

  7. Click Import.

The import does not include data points that already have an alarm.

Common Fields

Description

Description of the alarm. If the field is empty, the name of the data point is used.

Data Point

The name of the data point for which you want to create an alarm. If the data point name starts with =, you must add an apostrophe first in Excel to prevent the field from being interpreted as a formula.

Type

Select the type of alarm to create. This determines which other fields are relevant in the row.

Fields for alarm limits and assessment

Low Alarm and High Alarm

Used to set the low and high alarm limits for the data point. The alarm is triggered when the value goes outside the limits you have set.

Warning Low and Warning High

Used to set warning limits. These can be used to provide a warning before the data point reaches the actual alarm limit.

Range Low and Range High

Used to specify the permissible values for the data point.

Log period

Used when the alarm applies to logged data points. Here, you select the period for which the alarm should be checked, such as "day."

Other settings

View

Used to specify the views in which the alarm should be available.

Text list options

Used to specify text values for Boolean or numeric states.

Hysteresis

Used to prevent the alarm from triggering and resetting repeatedly when the value is close to the alarm limit.

Delay

Used to specify how long the value must remain in the alarm range before the alarm is triggered.

Recovery period

Used to specify how long the alarm must remain normal before it can be triggered again.

Priority

Select the priority for the alarm, such as A, B, or C.

Validity days

Used to specify on which days of the week the alarm should be valid.

Validity hours

Used to specify the hours during which the alarm should be valid.

Blocked

Used to specify whether the alarm should be blocked, meaning no events will be recorded.
