Units
Export Devices
Go to Configuration and select Devices.
Click Export. You will receive the file `
hosts.xlsx` containing all the units in the building.
Import devices
Go to Configuration and select Devices.
Click Import.
Click Download Template at the bottom of the window if you need a file with the correct columns, and fill it out.
Under Select gateway, choose the gateway to which the new devices will be added.
Select the file under "Select .xlsx file."
Check the "Update existing" box if you want to modify existing devices.
Click Import.
Columns
Name: the name of the device. Required.
Description: optional description.
IP Address: The IP address or hostname of the device. Required.
Type: The device type with its English name, as listed in an export:
Unknown,Pls,VentilationSystem,EnergyMeter,Gateway,HeatPump,HeatingSystem,CoolingSystem,EnergyCentral,SolarPowerSystem,BatteryStorage,EVCharger,WeatherStation,FireSafetySystem,AccessControlSystem,WaterMeter, orOther. The list is also included in the column comment in the template. An empty cell indicates the type “Unknown.”Model Name: optional model.
MAC Address: optional MAC address, for example
00:20:18:61:f1:8a.
With “Update Existing” checked, Evolo updates the device with the same name in the building, on the gateway it is already connected to. If multiple devices have the same name, the import stops and displays the row. Without the checkbox selected, each row creates a new device, even if one with the same name already exists.
Interface
Export Interface
Go to Configuration and select Interface.
Click Export. You will receive the file “
hostinterfaces.xlsx.”
The file contains one sheet per interface type: Modbus TCP, KNX-IP, BACnet-IP, MQTT, MQTT Inbound, OPC UA, Loxone, and Virtual. All sheets begin with the columns ID, Host, Name, Description, and Enabled. These are followed by the settings for that type.
Passwords and client keys are not included in the export. The cells are left blank.
Import Interfaces
Go to Configuration and select Interfaces.
Click Import.
Click Download Template at the bottom of the window if you need a blank file with the correct columns, and fill it out.
Select the file under "Select .xlsx file."
Check Update existing if you want to modify an existing interface.
Click Import. Evolo sends the new setup to the gateways in the building.
Here’s how to link the rows to the correct device and interface
Host: the name of the device to which the interface belongs, as listed under Devices. The name must exist and be unique within the building. Otherwise, the import will stop and indicate which sheet and row are incorrect.
Update existing: “Evolo” updates the interface with the same device, type, and name. Without this checkbox selected, each row creates a new interface, even if an identical one already exists.
ID: for information only. This column is not used to locate the interface.
Password and client keys: If you leave the cell blank during an update, the interface retains the stored value.
If the import stops
Evolo each cell is checked before anything is saved. The error message shows the sheet, row, and column that are incorrect, using the same row numbering as in Excel. Nothing from the file is saved until all rows are approved, so you can correct the file and import it again.
Import the units first, then the interfaces. Import the data points last; see Import Data Points Using Excel.
