Configuration

A device is a piece of equipment on the local network with an IP address or hostname that the Evolo Gateway is supposed to communicate with.

The interface determines how the Evolo Gateway communicates with the device, for example via KNX, Modbus, MQTT, BACnet, or OPC-UA.

Setting Up Calendar Items in the Calendar

Calendar

A generic calendar object is used when you want to link the calendar to an editable data point. The user can then select a mode in the calendar event, and Evolo writes the correct value to the data point.

Energy Monitoring

Here's how to create an energy group in Energy Monitoring. Energy meters are grouped together, for example, by water-based heating or electricity consumption.

Here's how to use the weather forecast app in Evolo to retrieve weather data from YR.no. The app can write temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and wind direction to data points in the system. It updates the data every hour.

The maximum power monitor is used for power management and load control, ensuring that the hourly power output remains below a defined limit.

Once the setup is complete, you can read values such as temperature, power, and energy, and set the desired temperature for the ovens.

SoftPLS is used to write and run custom logic in JavaScript directly on an Evolo Gateway. The logic runs cyclically based on the selected execution frequency.

Time synchronization is used to send the date and time to devices that need it. The time is retrieved from the operating system on the Evolo Gateway and synchronized with NTP servers.

The Zaptec application connects Evolo to the Zaptec Portal to retrieve data from charging stations. The application is used to monitor charging and write values to selected data points.
