Invite new users to a building and assign them the appropriate role. The role applies only to the selected building, so a user can have different roles in different buildings.

Here’s how to do it

  1. Go to Menu and select Users.

  2. Click Invite New Users.

  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

  4. Select the role you want to assign to the user.

  5. Send the invitation.

Fields

  • Email address: The email address of the person you want to invite.

  • Select role: The role the user will have in this build. You can choose between Superuser, Operations Operator, User, Observer, and Tenant. Installer is only displayed when you are logged in to an organization, and only an installer can invite new installers. See Permissions by Role below.

Click Invite to send the invitation.

The role you select applies only to the building you are inviting the user to. For example, a user can be a Super User in one building and an Observer in another.

After you’ve sent the invitation

The user will receive an invitation email and can register from there.
Registration can be done with a username and password or with Microsoft.
If the email address already exists in Evolo, the user will be added automatically.

Permissions by Role

See the table below for an overview of the permissions that apply to each role.

Role

What the role can do

Installer

Everything in the building, including setup and configuration: views, alarm setup, calendar setup, energy monitoring, notification channels, applications, gateway, systems, devices, interfaces, data points, logging, testing and commissioning, and MQTT.

Super User

Operate the facility from views. Read, acknowledge, and clear alarms. Read and write to the calendar, reports, and facility management. View energy monitoring, analysis, topology, and event logs. Manage users in the building, alarm settings, and notification channels.

Operations Operator

Operate the facility from screens. Read, acknowledge, and clear alarms. Read and write to the calendar, reports, and facility management records. View energy monitoring, analysis, and topology.

User

Operate the facility from the dashboards. View alarms, the calendar, energy monitoring, and reports.

Observer

View screens, alarms, the calendar, energy monitoring, and reports. Cannot make any changes.

Tenant

Operate the system from the views the user has access to. Does not see alarms, the calendar, energy monitoring, or reports.

You select which views the user sees in addition to their role. See Grant users access to specific views.
