What is Eva?
Eva is the AI operations assistant in Evolo. She answers questions about your buildings, explains alarms, compares energy consumption, and generates operational reports. She knows the building through the systems, operational descriptions, the operations log, and the documents under FDV.
She uses only data in Evolo that you have access to, and she cannot make any changes.
How to Enable KI
KI must be enabled by an administrator under “Organization” in the menu by checking “Allow KI in the organization’s buildings.” This setting applies to Eva, Today’s Insights, and Eva’s assessments in reports, and covers all buildings owned by the organization, including contractors who have access to the buildings.
How to open Eva
Top menu: “Ask Eva.”
Alarms: “Ask Eva” about an alarm.
Search: Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K, type your question, and select “Ask Eva about…”.
Code Editor: Get help with SoftPLS code.
Eva automatically knows which building, view, or alarm you’re looking at, without you having to tell her.
Examples of questions
“What could be causing this alarm?”
“Analyze what I’m looking at right now”
“What should I keep an eye on today?”
“Why is it so cold in the office?”
“How do I create an alert?” (Eva responds with a link to the help center)
“Create an operational review of this building.”
“What do the operating instructions say about the frost protection on the ventilation system?”
Give Eva more to work on
Eva is only as good as her knowledge of the building. She reviews the information under “Maintenance and Operations” and uses it to distinguish normal operation from anomalies.
Systems: Create the systems in the building. “Suggest systems” generates them based on the data points.
Operating Description: Briefly describe what constitutes normal operation for each system, such as operating hours, nighttime temperature reduction, frost protection, and seasonal operation. Eva does not report as deviations what she finds described as normal.
Documents: Upload operating instructions, data sheets, and lists to the system’s folder. Eva can read PDFs, Word documents, and Excel files, as well as scanned PDFs.
Operations Log: Record deviations and corrective actions in the operations log. Eva marks them as “known” instead of reporting them as “new.”
Contacts: Enter the automation supplier and service partner. Eva refers to the correct contact when something needs to be checked on-site.
Operations Review
A PDF report on a single building covering the last seven days: what’s working, what needs to be investigated, one section per system, and specific actions. Ask Eva for it, or click “Ask Eva for a new one” under Reports.
It takes a few minutes. You’ll receive a notification and an email when it’s ready, and you’ll find it under Reports.
Eva’s Assessment in Reports
Check the box next to “Eva’s Assessment (KI) in PDF” to include Eva’s summary of the key findings, the most significant changes, and recommended actions. The assessment is based solely on the figures in the report.
Today’s Insights
Every morning, Eva checks the facilities you have access to where KI services are enabled and highlights deviations from normal operations. The findings are available around 7:00 a.m. in the “Today’s Insights” widget on the home page.
Each finding shows the building, system, severity level (Critical, Warning, or Info), and the data it is based on.
You can set the status to “Under Review” or “Resolved,” with a note. This requires permission to acknowledge alerts.
Close a finding with a note when it is not a genuine deviation—for example, a circuit that is not yet in use. Eva will then not report it again unless something changes.
Issues that Eva does not detect again within three days are automatically closed.
Calls and Limits
Your conversations are private and are deleted after 90 days.
Thumbs up or down on a response helps us improve Eva. If you give a thumbs down, you can briefly explain what was wrong.
Privacy
To answer your questions and analyze performance, Eva shares relevant information with our AI provider:
The questions you ask.
Names of buildings, facilities, rooms, and data points.
Measurement values, alarm messages, and calendar events.
Images from viewings when Eva analyzes them.
FM information, such as systems, operational descriptions, operational logs, and documents.
Only roles are shared from registered contacts, not names or contact information.
Important to know:
Avoid sharing personal information in the chat.
Check Eva’s responses before taking any action. You are solely responsible for your decisions.
Eva only has access to information that you have access to, and only from buildings where AI services are enabled.
