Start the Evolo Gateway as a container
Log in via the CLI (Command Line Interface)
Create a Evolo folder in /root/ and navigate to it:
mkdir /root/evolo
cd /root/evoloDownload the Docker Compose file:
wget https://app.evolo.no/docker/docker-compose.yamlLog in to the Evolo Docker Registry:
docker login registry.evolo.no
Contact us to obtain a username and password for the registry.Start the Evolo Gateway:
docker run --rm -t --privileged -v $(pwd):/compose -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v /usr/bin/docker:/usr/bin/docker wagoautomation/docker-compose -f docker-compose.yaml up -d
Description of the attributes:
--rm:
Removes the container when it stops.
-t:
Assigns a pseudo-TTY, so that output appears as if it came from a terminal.
--privileged:
Grants extended privileges to the container, which is sometimes necessary for certain operations.
-v $(pwd):/compose:
Mounts the current directory ($(pwd)) to/compose-katalogeninside the container.
-v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock:
Mounts the Docker socket inside the container. This allows the Docker client inside the container to communicate with the Docker daemon on the host.
-v /usr/bin/docker:/usr/bin/docker:
Mounts the Docker binary from the host into the container.
wagoautomation/docker-compose: The
Docker image to use.
-f docker-compose.yaml up -d:
Uses the docker-compose.yaml file from the current directory to start the services defined in it.-dstarts them in the background, so you can close the terminal without the gateway stopping.Docker is now downloading the Evolo Gateway as a Docker container. The application will also restart when the PLS is rebooted.
Once the installation is complete and Docker is running Evolo Gateway, you can proceed to steps 2 and 3 at Add Evolo Gateway.
